Fortepiano Music Studio is a small and humble music school and studio focusing on providing quality musical education in a fun, and comfortable environment with both in-home and in-studio lessons across the GTA.

We are looking for fun, energetic, and self motivated Music Teachers focussing on piano, voice and/or guitar to start in Winter 2023. Candidates must be friendly, enthusiastic, self motivated, and energetic. Candidates must also work well with students of all ages, and feel comfortable teaching beginner to advanced students. Candidates who are willing to travel to our client's houses is a bonus, as we offer online and in-home lessons.

Job Requirements

 

Responsibilities

 
  • Create one-on-one lesson plans to suit the different learning styles of individual students, in a fun and engaging manner

  • Teaching one-on-one lessons lasting from 30 minutes to 60 minutes

  • Incorporate various techniques, music theory and/or history for every lesson

  • Building a strong relationship with students while guiding them through their musical journey

  • Give brief feedback to parents and the staff of the student’s progress

  • Preparing students for Royal Conservatory exams, festivals, audition, and/or recitals

  • Attending and helping with recitals that are held in December and June

  • Willing to collaborate with other teachers

 

Qualifications

 
  • Attending or have completed post-secondary education in music. (Preferred)

  • Formal musical instruction

  • Minimum RCM Level 8 or equivalent.

  • Proficient on their instrument with basic knowledge of piano to accompany voice students.

Experience

 
  • Music teaching: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Teaching/Tutoring: 1 year (Required)

 

Education

 
  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

  • RCM Level 8 or equivalent (Required)

  • GTA region, KW region

  • Access to a car is a bonus.

 

License

 
  • RCM (Preferred)

Don’t fit some of the criteria above? 

Apply to be one of our junior music teachers. We often have young children interested in learning music, but too young to start on an instrument. We offer early music lessons to teach students about notes, rhythms, instruments and songs using interactive games, worksheets and listening exercises.
